The king of Assyria heard a rumor about Tirhakah king of Ethiopia. The rumor said, “Tirhakah has come to fight against you!”


Asa went out to fight against Zerah. Asa’s army got ready for battle in the Valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.


The Ethiopians and the Libyans had a very large and powerful army. They had many chariots {\cf2\super [199]} and chariot drivers. But Asa, you depended on the Lord to help you defeat that large powerful army, and the Lord let you defeat them.


That land sends people across the sea in reed boats. {\cf2\super [184]}


“‘Many people made peace agreements with Egypt. But all those people from Ethiopia, Put, Lud, all Arabia, Libya and the people of Israel {\cf2\super [246]} will be destroyed!


You people living in Mareshah, {\cf2\super [26]} \par I will bring a person against you.\par That person will take the things you own.\par The Glory of Israel (God)\par will come into Adullam. {\cf2\super [27]} \par


Keilah, Aczib, and Mareshah. In all, there were nine towns and all the fields around them.


These evil spirits are the spirits of demons. {\cf2\super [122]} They \{have power to\} do miracles. {\cf2\super [123]} These evil spirits go out to the rulers of the whole world. They go out to gather the rulers for battle on the great day of God the All-Powerful.
