A good person loves the Lord’s teachings.\par He thinks about them day and night.\par


I hope these words I said\par will make him happy.\par I am happy with the Lord.\par


Remember the amazing things he does.\par Remember his miracles and wise decisions.\par


I stayed up late at night to study your word.\par


I discuss your rules.\par I follow your way of living.\par


Even the leaders said bad things about me.\par But I am your servant, Lord,\par and I study your laws.\par


Lord, I praise your commands.\par I love them.\par And I will study them.\par


Oh, I love your teachings, Lord.\par I talk about them all of the time.\par


I am wiser than all my teachers\par because I study your Agreement. {\cf2\super [597]} \par


But I remember the things\par that happened long ago.\par I am thinking about\par the many things you did.\par I am talking about the things you did\par with your great power!\par


I hope my words and thoughts please you.\par Lord, you are my Rock {\cf2\super [111]} —\par You are the One who saves me.\par


I will tell you some very wise\par and intelligent things.\par


I will remember you\par while lying on my bed.\par I will remember you\par in the middle of the night.\par


I thought about what you have done.\par I thought about those things.\par


Those men 50 years old or older can help their brothers with their work at the Meeting Tent. But those men must not do the work themselves. You must do these things when you choose Levite men to do their work.”


In the same way, you should be a light for other people. Live so that people will see the good things you do. Live so that people will praise your Father in heaven.


Then we can use all our time to pray and to teach the word \{of God\}.”


You know that Stephanas and his family were the first believers in Achaia. They have given themselves to the service of God’s people. I ask you, brothers and sisters,


God raised the Lord Jesus from death. And we know that God will also raise us with Jesus. God will bring us together with you, and we will stand before him.


And they gave in a way that we did not expect: They gave themselves to the Lord and to us before \{they gave their money\}. This is what God wants.


Remember to use the gift that you have. That gift was given to you through a prophecy {\cf2\super [19]} when the group of elders {\cf2\super [20]} put their hands on {\cf2\super [21]} you.


Be careful in your life and in your teaching. Continue to live and teach rightly. Then you will save yourself and those people who listen to your teaching.


Tell these things to the brothers and sisters there. This will show that you are a good servant of Christ Jesus. You will show that you are made strong by the words of faith and good teaching that you have followed.


He gave himself for us. He died to free us from all evil. He died to make us pure people that belong only to him—people that are always wanting to do good things.


Always remember the things written in that book of law. Study that book day and night. Then you can be sure to obey the things that are written there. If you do this, then you will be wise and successful in everything you do.
