A peaceful answer causes anger to disappear. But a rough answer causes anger to grow.


But the spiritual person is able to make judgments about all things. Other people cannot judge that person. \{The Scriptures {\cf2\super [16]} say,\}


Don’t do wrong to a person to pay him back for doing wrong to you. Or don’t say something bad to a person to pay him back for saying something bad to you. But \{ask God to\} bless that person. Do this, because you yourselves were called to receive a blessing.


David’s oldest brother Eliab heard David talking with the soldiers. Eliab became angry at David. Eliab asked David, “Why did you come here? Who did you leave those few sheep with in the desert? I know why you came down here! You didn’t want to do what you were told to do. You just wanted to come down here to watch the battle!”


David turned to some other people and asked them the same questions. They gave David the same answers as before.
