One time Jezebel was killing all the Lord’s prophets. So Obadiah took 100 prophets and hid them in two caves. Obadiah put 50 prophets in one cave and 50 prophets in another cave. Then Obadiah brought them food and water.)


Each person chose the part of the country where they would go look for water. Then the two men went through the whole country. Ahab went in one direction by himself. Obadiah went in another direction by himself.


God makes the grass grow to feed the animals.\par He gives us the plants\par that we work to grow.\par Those plants give us food from the earth.\par


The leaders of the people send their servants\par to get water.\par The servants go to the water storage places,\par but they don’t find any water.\par The servants come back with empty jars.\par So they are ashamed and embarrassed.\par They cover their heads from shame.\par


The animals \{are hungry and\} groaning. The herds of cattle wander around, confused. They have no grass to eat. The sheep are dying. {\cf2\super [9]}


Wild animals also need your help. The streams are dry—there is no water! Fire has changed our green fields into a desert.


Animals of the field, don’t be afraid.\par The desert pastures will grow grass.\par The trees will grow fruit.\par The fig trees and the vines will grow\par plenty of fruit.\par


So the people from two or three cities staggered to another city to get water—but there was not enough water for every person. Still you didn’t come to me for help.” The Lord said those things.
