14 Tagairtí Cros

So go and make followers of all people in the world. Baptize {\cf2\super [444]} them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. {\cf2\super [445]}

Many people came and told false things against Jesus. But the people all said different things—none of them agreed.

But one of the soldiers stuck his spear into Jesus’ side. Blood and water came out.

The words of the prophets {\cf2\super [310]} agree with this too:

And the Spirit himself joins with our spirits to say we are God’s children.

He put his mark on us to show that we are his. And he put his Spirit {\cf2\super [5]} in our hearts to be a guarantee—\{a proof that he will give us what he promised\}.

So Jesus also suffered outside the city. Jesus died to make his people holy {\cf2\super [177]} with his own blood (death).

That water is like baptism {\cf2\super [26]} that now saves you. Baptism is not the washing of dirt from the body. Baptism is asking God for a pure heart. It saves you because Jesus Christ was raised from death.

We believe people when they say something is true. But what God says is more important. And this is what God told us: He told us the truth about his own Son.
