1 John 5:10 - Easy To Read Version

10 When I come, I will talk about what Diotrephes is doing. He lies and says evil things about us. But that is not all he does! He refuses to help those brothers \{who are working to serve Christ\}. Diotrephes also stops those people who want to help the brothers. He makes those people leave the church (group of believers).

“I swear (promise) these things are true!\par Who can prove that I lied?\par Who can show that I am wrong?”\par


The Lord tells his secrets to his followers.\par He teaches his Agreement {\cf2\super [153]} to them.\par


Why? Because the Lord hates evil people and he supports good, honest people.


Who really believed the things we announced? Who really accepted the Lord’s punishment?


I don’t understand why I still hurt.\par I don’t understand why my wound\par is not cured and cannot be healed.\par Lord, I think you have changed.\par You are like a spring of water\par that became dry.\par You are like a spring\par whose water has stopped flowing.\par


God is not a man; he will not lie. God is not a human being; his decisions will not change. If the Lord says he will do something, then he will do it. If the Lord makes a promise, then he will do the thing he promised.


Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son. God gave his Son so that every person that believes in him would not be lost, but have life forever.


The person that believes in God’s Son is not judged (condemned). But the person that does not believe is already judged. Why? Because that person has not believed in God’s only Son.


The person that accepts what he (Jesus) says has given proof that God speaks the truth.


The Father’s teaching does not live in you. Why? Because you don’t believe in the One the Father sent.


And the Spirit himself joins with our spirits to say we are God’s children.


I want to tell you this: While the heir {\cf2\super [47]} is still a child, he is no different from a slave. It doesn’t matter that the heir owns everything. Why?


You are God’s children. That is why God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts. The Spirit {\cf2\super [49]} cries out, “Abba, {\cf2\super [50]} Father.”


Your old sinful self has died, and your new life is kept with Christ in God.


So, brothers and sisters, be careful that none of you is sinful, and refuses to believe, and stops following the living God.


This makes us more sure about the things the prophets {\cf2\super [2]} said. And it is good for you to follow closely what the prophets said. The things they said are like a light shining in a dark place. You have that light until the day begins and the morning star brings new light to your minds.


If we say that we have not sinned, then we are saying that God is a liar—we don’t accept God’s true teaching.

Then the snake was very angry at the woman. The snake went away to make war against all her other children. Her children are those people who obey God’s commands and have the truth that Jesus taught.
