1 Corinthians 9:21 - Easy To Read Version

21 To those that are without the law I became like a person that is without the law. I did this to help save those people that are without the law. (But really, I am not without God’s law—I am ruled by the law of Christ.)

1 Corinthians 9:21
22 Tagairtí Cros

I will gladly obey your commands.\par Lord, your commands make me happy.\par

The Holy Spirit {\cf2\super [319]} thinks that you should have no more burdens, and we agree. You need to do only these things:

Then Paul and the men with him traveled through other cities. {\cf2\super [328]} They gave the believers the rules and decisions from the apostles {\cf2\super [329]} and elders {\cf2\super [330]} in Jerusalem. They told the believers to obey these rules.

We have already sent a letter to the non-Jewish believers. The letter said:

People that have the law {\cf2\super [14]} and people that have never heard of the law are all the same when they sin. People that don’t have the law and are sinners will be lost. And, in the same way, people that have the law and are sinners will be judged by the law.

(The non-Jews don’t have the law. But when they naturally do things that the law commands without even knowing the law, then they are their own law. This is true even though they don’t have the written law.

In my mind, I am happy with God’s law.

God \{will save me\}! I thank him \{for his salvation\} through Jesus Christ our Lord!

God did this so that we could be right like the law said we must be. Now we don’t live following our sinful selves. We live following the Spirit.

Tell me this one thing: How did you receive the Spirit {\cf2\super [19]} ? Did you receive the Spirit by following the law {\cf2\super [20]} ? No! You received the Spirit because you heard \{the Good News {\cf2\super [21]} \} and believed it.

Help each other with your troubles. When you do this, you truly obey the law of Christ.

This is the new agreement I will give the people of Israel. {\cf2\super [89]} \par I will give this agreement in the future, says the Lord:\par I will put my laws in their minds,\par and I will write my laws on their hearts.\par I will be their God,\par and they will be my people.\par
