1 Corinthians 14:37

I heard this message from God. I learned what God Most-High taught me. I saw what God All-Powerful [300] showed me. I humbly tell what I clearly see.

“When a person listens to you, that person is really listening to me. But when a person refuses to accept you, that person is really refusing to accept me. And when a person refuses to accept me, he is refusing to accept the One (God) that sent me.”

God has given me a special gift. That is why I have something to say to every person among you. Don’t think that you are better than you really are. You must see yourself like you really are. Decide what you are by the kind of faith God has given you.

And only two or three prophets {\cf2\super [102]} should speak. The others should judge what they say.

Did God’s teaching come from you? No! Or are you the only ones that have received that teaching? No!

If that person does not know this, then he is not known \{by God\}.

But the spiritual person is able to make judgments about all things. Other people cannot judge that person. \{The Scriptures {\cf2\super [16]} say,\}

Brothers and sisters, in the past I could not talk to you like I talk to spiritual people. I had to talk to you like worldly people—like babies in Christ.

Now I write about people who are not married. {\cf2\super [43]} I have no command from the Lord about this. But I give my opinion. And I can be trusted, because the Lord has given me mercy.

The woman is happier if she does not marry again. This is my opinion, and I believe that I have God’s Spirit.

The person who thinks he knows something does not yet know anything like he should.

We don’t dare to put ourselves in the same group with those people who think that they are very important. We don’t compare ourselves to them. They use themselves to measure themselves, and they judge themselves by what they themselves are. This shows that they know nothing.

You must look at the facts before you. If a person feels sure that he belongs to Christ, then he must remember that we belong to Christ the same as that person.

You are very patient with any person who comes to you and tells you things about Jesus that are different from the things we told you. You are very willing to accept a spirit or a gospel that is different from the Spirit {\cf2\super [31]} and gospel {\cf2\super [32]} that you received from us. \{So you should be patient with me.\}

If a person plants (lives) to satisfy his sinful self, then his sinful self will bring him eternal death. But if a person plants to please the Spirit, {\cf2\super [76]} he will get eternal life from the Spirit.

I want you to remember the words that the holy prophets {\cf2\super [11]} spoke in the past. And remember the command that our Lord and Savior gave us. He gave us that command through your apostles. {\cf2\super [12]}

But we are from God. So the people who know God listen to us. But the people who are not from God don’t listen to us. That is how we know the Spirit {\cf2\super [16]} that is true and the spirit that is false.
