Zadok son of Ahitub and Ahimelech son of Abiathar were priests. Seraiah was secretary.


But several men did not agree with what Adonijah was doing. These men remained loyal to David. They were Zadok the priest, Benaiah son of Jehoiada, Nathan the prophet, Shimei, Rei, and King David’s special guard. [1] So these men did not join with Adonijah.


King Solomon went to Gibeon to offer a sacrifice. He went there because that was the most important high place. [15] Solomon offered 1,000 offerings on that altar.


Zadok was also in that group. He was a brave young soldier. He came with 22 officers from his family.


Then David asked the priests, Zadok and Abiathar, to come to him. David also asked these Levites to come to him: Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab.


So, Solomon went to the place of worship at Gibeon. Then Solomon left the Meeting Tent {\cf2\super [5]} and went back to Jerusalem to rule as king of Israel.
