And Jeroboam said in his heart: Now shall the kingdom return to the house of David,


There were also the effeminate in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the people whom the Lord had destroyed before the face of the children of Israel.


Who can make him clean that is conceived of unclean seed? Is it not thou who only art?


How much more is man abominable and unprofitable, who drinketh iniquity like water?


For they have destroyed the things which thou hast made: but what has the just man done?


The Lord trieth the just and the wicked: but he that loveth iniquity hateth his own soul.

But neither hast thou walked in their ways, nor hast thou done a little less than they according to their wickednesses: thou hast done almost more wicked things than they in all thy ways


And Samaria committed not half thy sins: but thou hast surpassed them with thy crimes and hast justified thy sisters by all thy abominations which thou hast done.


But I say to you, that whosoever is angry with his brother, shall be in danger of the judgment. And whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council. And whosoever shall say, Thou Fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.


But God said to him: Thou fool, this night do they require thy soul of thee: and whose shall those things be which thou hast provided?


Because that, when they knew God, they have not glorified him as God, or given thanks; but became vain in their thoughts, and their foolish heart was darkened.


And as they liked not to have God in their knowledge, God delivered them up to a reprobate sense, to do those things which are not convenient;


For the things that are done by them in secret, it is a shame even to speak of.


Thou shalt not do in like manner to the Lord thy God. For they have done to their gods all the abominations which the Lord abhorreth, offering their sons and daughters, and burning them with fire.


For the time past is sufficient to have fulfilled the will of the Gentiles, for them who have walked in riotousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and unlawful worshipping of idols.
