Thus saith the Lord: Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, and let not the strong man glory in his strength, and let not the rich man glory in his riches:


He saith to them: My chalice indeed you shall drink; but to sit on my right or left hand, is not mine to give to you, but to them for whom it is prepared by my Father.


No man taketh it away from me: but I lay it down of myself, and I have power to lay it down: and I have power to take it up again. This commandment have I received of my Father.


Now this is eternal life: That they may know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.


And if sons, heirs also; heirs indeed of God, and joint heirs with Christ: yet so, if we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified with him.


For whom he foreknew, he also predestinated to be made conformable to the image of his Son; that he might be the firstborn amongst many brethren.


(As it is written: For thy sake we are put to death all the day long. We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.)


Who hath delivered and doth deliver us out of so great dangers: in whom we trust that he will yet also deliver us.


For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us: so also by Christ doth our comfort abound.


For although he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him: but we shall live with him by the power of God towards you.


And I live, now not I; but Christ liveth in me. And that I live now in the flesh: I live in the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered himself for me.


From henceforth let no man be troublesome to me; for I bear the marks of the Lord Jesus in my body.


Until we all meet into the unity of faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the age of the fulness of Christ;


Furthermore I count all things to be but loss for the excellent knowledge of Jesus Christ my Lord; for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but as dung, that I may gain Christ:


Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up those things that are wanting of the sufferings of Christ, in my flesh, for his body, which is the church:


And you, when you were dead in your sins, and the uncircumcision of your flesh; he hath quickened together with him, forgiving you all offences:


Therefore, if you be risen with Christ, seek the things that are above; where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God:


Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy hath regenerated us unto a lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,


But I think it meet as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance.


And by this we know that we have known him, if we keep his commandments.


But he that keepeth his word, in him in very deed the charity of God is perfected; and by this we know that we are in him.


And alive, and was dead, and behold I am living for ever and ever, and have the keys of death and of hell.
