I therefore, a prisoner in the Lord, beseech you that you walk worthy of the vocation in which you are called,


As it is meet for me to think this for you all, for that I have you in my heart; and that in my bands, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers of my joy.


Because for the work of Christ he came to the point of death: delivering his life, that he might fulfil that which on your part was wanting towards my service.


Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy, a brother: to Philemon, our beloved and fellow labourer;


I beseech thee for my son, whom I have begotten in my bands, Onesimus,


Whom I have sent back to thee. And do thou receive him as my own bowels.
