2 Speak to Aaron, and thou shalt say to him: When thou shalt place the seven lamps, let the candlestick be set up on the south side. Give orders therefore that the lamps look over against the north, towards the table of the loaves of proposition. Over against that part shall they give light, towards which the candlestick looketh.

Thou shalt make also seven lamps: and shalt set them upon the candlestick, to give light over against.


He made also the seven lamps with their snuffers, and the vessels where the snuffings were to be put out, of the purest gold.


The altar of gold, and the ointment, and the incense of spices:


And burnt upon it the incense of spices, as the Lord had commanded Moses.


To the law rather, and to the testimony. And if they speak not according to this word, they shall not have the morning light.


They shall be set upon the most pure candlestick before the Lord continually.


And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:


And Aaron did so: and he put the lamps upon the candlestick, as the Lord had commanded Moses.


You are the light of the world. A city seated on a mountain cannot be hid.


That was the true light, which enlighteneth every man that cometh into this world.


And we have the more firm prophetical word: whereunto you do well to attend, as to a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:


And I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks:


The mystery of the seven stars, which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches. And the seven candlesticks are the seven churches.


And from the throne proceeded lightnings, and voices, and thunders; and there were seven lamps burning before the throne, which are the seven spirits of God.
