But Melchisedech the king of Salem, bringing forth bread and wine, for he was the priest of the most high God,


And after he began to be ninety and nine years old, the Lord appeared to him: and said unto him: I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be perfect.


Therefore taking up his parable, again he said: Balaam, the son of Beor, hath said: The man whose eye is stopped up hath said:


I shall see him: but not now. I shall behold him, but not near. A star shall rise out of Jacob, and a sceptre shall spring up from Israel: and shall strike the chiefs of Moab, and shall waste all the children of Seth.


He took up his parable and said: Balaam the son of Beor hath said: The man hath said, whose eye is stopped up:


The hearer of the words of God hath said. He that hath beheld the vision of the Almighty. He that falleth, and so his eyes are opened:


And if I should have prophecy and should know all mysteries, and all knowledge, and if I should have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.


NOW concerning those things that are sacrificed to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up; but charity edifieth.
