She answered: Dost thou think it a small matter, that thou hast taken my husband from me, unless thou take also my son's mandrakes? Rachel said: He shall sleep with thee this night, for thy son's mandrakes.


But yet this hath seemed little in thy sight, O Lord God, unless thou didst also speak of the house of thy servant for a long time to come: for this is the law of Adam, O Lord God.


And he spoke to the Levites, by whose instruction all Israel was sanctified to the Lord, saying: Put the ark in the sanctuary of the temple, which Solomon the son of David king of Israel built. For you shall carry it no more. But minister now to the Lord your God, and to his people Israel.


And they kept the watch of their God, and the observance of expiation. And the singing men, and the porters, according to the commandment of David, and of Solomon his son.


And he said: Hear ye therefore, O house of David: Is it a small thing for you to be grievous to men, that you are grievous to my God also?


Was it not enough for you to feed upon good pastures? but you must also tread down with your feet the residue of your pastures: and when you drank the dearest water, you troubled the rest with your feet.


They shall enter into my sanctuary, and they shall come near to my table, to minister unto me, and to keep my ceremonies.


But the Levites shall pitch their tents round about the tabernacle, lest there come indignation upon the multitude of the children of Israel: and they shall keep watch, and guard the tabernacle of the testimony.


Is it a small matter to thee, that thou hast brought us out of a land that flowed with milk and honey, to kill us in the desert, except thou rule also like a lord over us?


And he said again to Core: Hear ye sons of Levi:


Bring the tribe of Levi, and make them stand in the sight of Aaron the priest to minister to him. And let them watch,


And thou shalt give the Levites for a gift,


And as they were ministering to the Lord, and fasting, the Holy Ghost said to them: Separate me Saul and Barnabas, for the work whereunto I have taken them.


But to me it is a very small thing to be judged by you, or by man's day; but neither do I judge my own self.


At that time he separated the tribe of Levi: to carry the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to stand before him in the ministry, and to bless in his name until this present day.


And the servants of Saul spoke all these words in the ears of David. And David said: Doth it seem to you a small matter to be the king's son-in-law? But I am a poor man, and of small ability.
