Let all the earth adore thee, and sing to thee: let it sing a psalm to thy name.


Take unto thee also Aaron thy brother with his sons, from among the children of Israel, that they may minister to me in the priest's office: Aaron, Nadab, and Abiu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.


And with all these things thou shalt vest Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him. And thou shalt consecrate the hands of them all, and shalt sanctify them: that they may do the office of priesthood unto me.


And Aaron and his sons shall use them when they shall go in to the tabernacle of the testimony, or when they approach the altar to minister in the sanctuary: lest being guilty of iniquity they die. It shall be a law for ever to Aaron, and to his seed after him.


And their leader shall be of themselves: and their prince shall come forth from the midst of them: and I will bring him near, and he shall come to me: for who is this that setteth his heart to approach to me, saith the Lord?


Behold, one shall come up as a lion from the swelling of the Jordan, against the strong and beautiful: for I will make him run suddenly upon her. And who shall be the chosen one whom I may appoint over her? For who is like to me and who shall abide me? And who is that shepherd that can withstand my countenance?

And thou shalt give to the priests, and the Levites, that are of the race of Sadoc, who approach to me, saith the Lord God, to offer to me a calf of the herd for sin.


The holy portion of the land shall be for the priests the ministers of the sanctuary, who come near to the ministry of the Lord: and it shall be a place for their houses, and for the holy place of the sanctuary.


And Moses said to Aaron: This is what the Lord hath spoken. I will be sanctified in them that approach to me: and I will be glorified in the sight of all the people. And when Aaron heard this, he held his peace.


Take Aaron with his sons, their vestments, and the oil of unction: a calf for sin, two rams, a basket with unleavened bread,


And you shall return, and shall see the difference between the just and the wicked: and between him that serveth God, and him that serveth him not.


And when they had stood up against Moses and Aaron, they said: Let it be enough for you, that all the multitude consisteth of holy ones, and the Lord is among them. Why lift you up yourselves above the people of the Lord?


Do this therefore: Take every man of you your censers: thou Core, and all thy company.


Whomsoever of these I shall choose, his rod shall blossom. And I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, wherewith they murmur against you.


He returned on the following day, and found that the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded: and that the buds swelling, it had bloomed blossoms, which spreading the leaves, were formed into almonds.


You have not chosen me: but I have chosen you; and have appointed you, that you should go, and should bring forth fruit; and your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.


Until the day on which, giving commandments by the Holy Ghost to the apostles whom he had chosen, he was taken up.


And praying, they said: Thou, Lord, who knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,


And as they were ministering to the Lord, and fasting, the Holy Ghost said to them: Separate me Saul and Barnabas, for the work whereunto I have taken them.


And when there had been much disputing, Peter, rising up, said to them: Men, brethren, you know, that in former days God made choice among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.


But he said: The God of our fathers hath preordained thee that thou shouldst know his will, and see the Just One, and shouldst hear the voice from his mouth.


But now in Christ Jesus, you, who some time were afar off, are made nigh by the blood of Christ.


But the sure foundation of God standeth firm, having this seal: the Lord knoweth who are his; and let every one depart from iniquity who nameth the name of the Lord.


Follow peace with all men, and holiness: without which no man shall see God.


And hath made us a kingdom, and priests to God and his Father, to him be glory and empire for ever and ever. Amen.


And I chose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to go up to my altar, and burn incense to me, and to wear the ephod before me: and I gave to thy father's house of all the sacrifices of the children of Israel.
