And seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel and Jezonias the son of Saaphan stood in the midst of them that stood before the pictures. And every one had a censer in his hand: and a cloud of smoke went up from the incense.


And fire coming out from the Lord destroyed them: and they died before the Lord.


Died and were struck in the sight of the Lord.


Take every one of you censers, and put incense upon them, offering to the Lord two hundred and fifty censers. Let Aaron also hold his censer.


Rose up against Moses: and with them two hundred and fifty others of the children of Israel, leading men of the synagogue, and who in the time of assembly were called by name.


But all Israel, that was standing round about, fled at the cry of them that were perishing; saying: Lest perhaps the earth swallow us up also.


And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:


And the number of them that were slain was fourteen thousand and seven hundred men, besides them that had perished in the sedition of Core.


And the earth opening her mouth swallowed up Core, many others dying: when the fire burned two hundred and fifty men. And there was a great miracle wrought,

And if any man will hurt them, fire shall come out of their mouths, and shall devour their enemies. And if any man will hurt them, in this manner must he be slain.
