They that go down to the sea in ships, doing business in the great waters:


And Moses going forth from the presence of Pharao prayed to the Lord.


Said: If I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord, I beseech thee, that thou wilt go with us, (for it is a stiffnecked people,) and take away our iniquities and sin, and possess us.


It may be the Lord thy God will hear the words of Rabsaces, whom the king of the Assyrians his master hath sent to blaspheme the living God and to reproach with words which the Lord thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that is left.


And the Lord said to me: If Moses and Samuel shall stand before me, my soul is not towards this people. Cast them out from my sight and let them go forth.


And king Sedecias sent Juchal the son of Selemias and Sophonias the son of Maasias the priest to Jeremias the prophet, saying: Pray to the Lord our God for us.


And they said to Jeremias the prophet: Let our supplication fall before thee, and pray thou for us to the Lord thy God for all this remnant: for we are left but a few of many, as thy eyes do behold us.


He said to Moses: I beseech thee, my lord, lay not upon us this sin, which we have foolishly committed.


And Moses cried to the Lord, saying: O God, I beseech thee heal her.


Upon which they came to Moses, and said: We have sinned, because we have spoken against the Lord and thee. Pray that he may take away these serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.


Then Simon answering, said: Pray you for me to the Lord, that none of these things which you have spoken may come upon me.


For it was fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;


Confess therefore your sins one to another: and pray one for another, that you may be saved. For the continual prayer of a just man availeth much.


He that knoweth his brother to sin a sin which is not to death, let him ask, and life shall be given to him, who sinneth not to death. There is a sin unto death: for that I say not that any man ask.
