For thou hast struck all them who are my adversaries without cause: thou hast broken the teeth of sinners.


For the poor man shall not be forgotten to the end: the patience of the poor shall not perish for ever.


Arise, arise, put on strength, O thou arm of the Lord: arise as in the days of old, in the ancient generations. Hast not thou struck the proud one, and wounded the dragon?


If I shall whet my sword as the lightning, and my hand take hold on judgment: I will render vengeance to my enemies, and repay them that hate me.


And repaying forthwith them that hate him, so as to destroy them, without further delay immediately rendering to them what they deserve.


And the people returned to the camp: and the ancients of Israel said: Why hath the Lord defeated us to-day before the Philistines? Let us fetch unto us the ark of the covenant of the Lord from Silo: and let it come in the midst of us, that it may save us from the hand of our enemies.
