She called to her the men of her house, and said to them: See, he hath brought in a Hebrew, to abuse us. He came in to me, to lie with me: and when I cried out,


And said: The Hebrew servant, whom thou last brought, came to me to abuse me.


Cursed be their fury, because it was stubborn: and their wrath because it was cruel. I Will divide them in Jacob, and will scatter them in Israel.


And Hazael said to him: Why doth my lord weep? And he said: Because I know the evil that thou wilt do to the children of Israel. Their strong cities thou wilt burn with fire, and their young men thou wilt kill with the sword and thou wilt dash their children, and rip up their pregnant women.


He that is mocked by his friends as I, shall call upon God: and he will hear him. For the simplicity of the just man is laughed to scorn.


As a roaring lion, and a hungry bear, so is a wicked prince over the poor people.


A man that doth violence to the blood of a person, if he flee even to the pit, no man will stay him.


For, behold, the Lord will come out of his place, to visit the iniquity of the inhabitant of the earth against him: and the earth shall disclose her blood and shall cover her slain no more.


Their feet run to evil and make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are unprofitable thoughts. Wasting and destruction are in their ways.

And Dalila said to him: Behold, thou hast mocked me, and hast told me a false thing: but now at least tell me wherewith thou mayest be bound.
