The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven or from men? But they thought within themselves, saying:


And they asked him, saying: Why then do the Pharisees and scribes say that Elias must come first?


And it came to pass, that while they talked and reasoned with themselves, Jesus himself also drawing near, went with them.


And there entered a thought into them, which of them should be greater.


But Peter said: Far be it from me; for I never did eat any thing that is common and unclean.
