I will bless thee, and I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand that is by the seashore. Thy seed shall possess the gates of their enemies.


And the king said to them: What seemeth good to you, that will I do. And the king stood by the gate: and all the people went forth by their troops, by hundreds and by thousands.


Have the gates of death been opened to thee, and hast thou seen the darksome doors?


May the Lord bless thee out of Sion: and mayest thou see the good things of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.


Lord, hear my voice. Let thy ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication.


For requiring their blood he hath remembered them he hath not forgotten the cry of the poor.


Wisdom is too high for a fool, in the gate he shall not open his mouth.


Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold I will lay a stone in the foundations of Sion, a tried stone, a corner-stone, a precious stone, founded in the foundation. He that believeth, let him not hasten.


And a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and strength to them that return out of the battle to the gate.


I said: In the midst of my days I shall go to the gates of hell. I sought for the residue of my years.


No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper: and every tongue that resisteth thee in judgment, thou shalt condemn. This is the inheritance of the servants of the Lord and their justice with me, saith the Lord.


The waters compassed me about even to the soul: the deep hath closed me round about, the sea hath covered my head.


And the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother,


And thou Capharnaum, shalt thou be exalted up to heaven? thou shalt go down even unto hell. For if in Sodom had been wrought the miracles that have been wrought in thee, perhaps it had remained unto this day.


And if he will not hear them: tell the church. And if he will not hear the church, let him be to thee as the heathen and publican.


And Jesus walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea (for they were fishers).


Every one therefore that heareth these my words, and doth them, shall be likened to a wise man that built his house upon a rock,


And he brought him to Jesus. And Jesus looking upon him, said: Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is interpreted Peter.


Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord increased daily together such as should be saved.


Take heed to yourselves, and to the whole flock, wherein the Holy Ghost hath placed you bishops, to rule the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.


AND at that time there was raised a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all dispersed through the countries of Judea, and Samaria, except the apostles.


O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting?


And when they had known the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, who seemed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship: that we should go unto the Gentiles, and they unto the circumcision:


That the manifold wisdom of God may be made known to the principalities and powers in heavenly places through the church,


This is a great sacrament; but I speak in Christ and in the church.


And he is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he may hold the primacy:


But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.


But if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?


Therefore receiving an immoveable kingdom, we have grace; whereby let us serve, pleasing God, with fear and reverence.


And the seventh angel sounded the trumpet: and there were great voices in heaven, saying: The kingdom of this world is become our Lord's and his Christ's, and he shall reign for ever and ever. Amen.


And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them, the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
