He shall call heaven from above, and the earth, to judge his people.


They have given the dead bodies of thy servants to be meat for the fowls of the air: the flesh of thy saints for the beasts of the earth.


Son of man, put forth a riddle and speak a parable to the house of Israel,


And I said: Ah, ah, ah, O Lord God, they say of me: Doth not this man speak by parables?


In that day a parable shall be taken up upon you, and a song shall be sung with melody by them that say: We are laid waste and spoiled: the portion of my people is changed: how shall he depart from me, whereas he is returning that will divide our land?


Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a dark speech concerning him: and it shall be said: Woe to him that heapeth together that which is not his own? how long also doth he load himself with thick clay?


And whilst he soweth some fell by the way side, and the birds of the air came and ate them up.


And it came to pass: when Jesus had finished these parables, he passed from thence.


AND Jesus answering, spoke again in parables to them, saying:


And from the fig tree learn a parable: When the branch thereof is now tender, and the leaves come forth, you know that summer is nigh.


AND he began to speak to them in parables: A certain man planted a vineyard and made a hedge about it, and dug a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it to husbandmen; and went into a far country.


And they sought to lay hands on him, but they feared the people. For they knew that he spoke this parable to them. And leaving him, they went their way.


And after he had called them together, he said to them in parables: How can Satan cast out Satan?


And he saith to them: Are you ignorant of this parable? and how shall you know all parables?


And with many such parables, he spoke to them the word, according as they were able to hear.


And Peter said to him: Lord, dost thou speak this parable to us, or likewise to all?


To whom he said: To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to the rest in parables, that seeing they may not see, and hearing may not understand.


These things I have spoken to you in proverbs. The hour cometh, when I will no more speak to you in proverbs, but will shew you plainly of the Father.
