Why then do you say now: Let us persecute him, and let us find occasion of word against him?


Trust in the Lord, and do good, and dwell in the land, and thou shalt be fed with its riches.


The desire of the wicked is the fortification of evil men: but the root of the just shall prosper.


Men shall not be strengthened by wickedness: and the root of the just shall not be moved.


What shall I do to thee, O Ephraim? what shall I do to thee, O Juda? your mercy is as a morning cloud, and as the dew that goeth away in the morning.


And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake: but he that shall persevere unto the end, he shall be saved.


And blessed is he that shall not be scandalized in me.


And he that received the seed upon stony ground, is he that heareth the word, and immediately receiveth it with joy.


And they were scandalized in his regard. But Jesus said to them: A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.


And when the sun was up they were scorched: and because they had not root, they withered away.


But he that shall persevere to the end, he shall be saved.


Then Jesus said to them: All you shall be scandalized in me this night. For it is written: I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be dispersed.


And Peter answering, said to him: Although all shall be scandalized in thee, I will never be scandalized.


And they have no root in themselves, but are only for a time: and then when tribulation and persecution ariseth for the word they are presently scandalized.


Now they upon the rock, are they who when they hear, receive the word with joy: and these have no roots; for they believe for a while, and in time of temptation, they fall away.


Jesus answered them, and said: Amen, amen I say to you, you seek me, not because you have seen miracles, but because you did eat of the loaves, and were filled.


To them indeed, who according to patience in good work, seek glory and honour and incorruption, eternal life:
