I know, my God, that thou provest hearts, and lovest simplicity. Wherefore I also in the simplicity of my heart have joyfully offered all these things: and I have seen with great joy thy people, which are here present, offer thee their offerings.


Deliver me, O Lord, from the evil man: rescue me from the unjust man.


Evil thoughts are an abomination to the Lord: and pure words most beautiful shall be confirmed by him.


The thought of a fool is sin: and the detracter is the abomination of men.


Let the wicked forsake his way and the unjust man his thoughts, and let him return to the Lord; and he will have mercy on him: and to our God, for he is bountiful to forgive.


Thus saith the Lord God: In that day projects shall enter into thy heart, and thou shalt conceive a mischievous design.


But Jesus knowing it, retired from thence: and many followed him, and he healed them all.


But they thought within themselves, saying: Because we have taken no bread.


And Jesus seeing their thoughts, said: Why do you think evil in your hearts?


Why doth this man speak thus? he blasphemeth. Who can forgive sins, but God only?


Which is easier, to say to the sick of the palsy: Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say: Arise, take up thy bed, and walk?


For from within out of the heart of men proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,


And he said to them: Why are you troubled, and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?


And when Jesus knew their thoughts, answering, he said to them: What is it you think in your hearts?


But he knew their thoughts; and said to the man who had the withered hand: Arise, and stand forth in the midst. And rising he stood forth.


He said to him the third time: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved, because he had said to him the third time: Lovest thou me? And he said to him: Lord, thou knowest all things: thou knowest that I love thee. He said to him: Feed my sheep.


It is the spirit that quickeneth: the flesh profiteth nothing. The words that I have spoken to you, are spirit and life.


But Peter said: Ananias, why hath Satan tempted thy heart, that thou shouldst lie to the Holy Ghost, and by fraud keep part of the price of the land?


Do penance therefore for this thy wickedness; and pray to God, that perhaps this thought of thy heart may be forgiven thee.


Neither is there any creature invisible in his sight: but all things are naked and open to his eyes, to whom our speech is.


And I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am he that searcheth the reins and hearts, and I will give to every one of you according to your works. But to you I say,
