From morning till evening they shall be cut down: and because no one understandeth, they shall perish for ever.


Son of man, behold, I take from thee the desire of thy eyes with a stroke: and thou shalt not lament, nor weep: neither shall thy tears run down.


And thou, O son of man, behold, in the day wherein I will take away from them their strength and the joy of their glory and the desire of their eyes upon which their souls rest, their sons and their daughters.


And I will pour out upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace, and of prayers: and they shall look upon me, whom they have pierced: and they shall mourn for him as one mourneth for an only son, and they shall grieve over him, as the manner is to grieve for the death of the firstborn.


And he went with him, and a great multitude followed him, and they thronged him.


And when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold a dead man was carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow: and a great multitude of the city was with her.


And behold there came a man whose name was Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at the feet of Jesus, beseeching him that he would come into his house:


And there was a certain woman having an issue of blood twelve years, who had bestowed all her substance on physicians, and could not be healed by any.


And Jesus said: Who is it that touched me? And all denying, Peter and they that were with him said: Master, the multitudes throng and press thee, and dost thou say, Who touched me?


Wherefore as by one man sin entered into this world, and by sin death; and so death passed upon all men, in whom all have sinned.
