Then David arose from the ground, and washed and anointed himself. And when he had changed his apparel, he went into the house of the Lord: and worshipped. And then he came into his own house, and he called for bread, and ate.


Sent to Thecua, and fetched from thence a wise woman: and said to her: Feign thyself to be a mourner, and put on mourning apparel, and be not anointed with oil, that thou mayest be as a woman that had a long time been mourning for one dead.


Touch ye not my anointed: and do no evil to my prophets.


He shall receive a blessing from the Lord, and mercy from God his Saviour.


At all times let thy garments be white, and let not oil depart from thy head.


That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the best ointments: and they are not concerned for the affliction of Joseph.
