For when Jezabel killed the prophets of the Lord, he took a hundred prophets and hid them by fifty and fifty in caves, and fed them with bread and water.


And he answered: With zeal have I been zealous for the Lord God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant. They have thrown down thy altars, they have slain thy prophets with the sword, and I alone am left: and they seek my life to take it away.

Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up those things that are wanting of the sufferings of Christ, in my flesh, for his body, which is the church:


If we suffer, we shall also reign with him. If we deny him, he will also deny us.


Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasure of the Egyptians. For he looked unto the reward.


But without faith it is impossible to please God. For he that cometh to God, must believe that he is, and is a rewarder to them that seek him.


My brethren, count it all joy, when you shall fall into divers temptations;


But if you partake of the sufferings of Christ, rejoice that when his glory shall be revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.


He, that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches: To him that overcometh, I will give the hidden manna, and will give him a white counter, and in the counter, a new name written, which no man knoweth, but he that receiveth it.


And he that shall overcome, and keep my works unto the end, I will give him power over the nations.

He that shall overcome, shall thus be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
