These are their courses according to their ministries, to come into the house of the Lord, and according to their manner, under the hand of Aaron their father: as the Lord the God of Israel had commanded.


But Nadab and Abiu died before their father, and had no children: so Eleazar and Ithamar did the office of the priesthood.


Leaving their suburbs, and their possessions, and passing over to Juda, and Jerusalem; because Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from executing the priestly office to the Lord.


Also of the sons of Aaron who were in the fields and in the suburbs of each city there were men appointed, to distribute portions to all the males, among the priests and the Levites.


And Ezechias appointed companies of the priests, and the Levites, by their courses, every man in his own office; to wit, both of the priests, and of the Levites: for holocausts, and for peace-offerings: to minister, and to praise, and to sing in the gates of the camp of the Lord.


And he appointed according to the order of David his father the offices of the priests in their ministries: and the Levites in their order to give praise, and minister before the priests according to the duty of every day: and the porters in their divisions by gate and gate. For so David, the man of God, had commanded.


And they set the priests in their divisions, and the Levites in their courses over the works of God in Jerusalem, as it is written in the book of Moses.


Take unto thee also Aaron thy brother with his sons, from among the children of Israel, that they may minister to me in the priest's office: Aaron, Nadab, and Abiu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.


And with all these things thou shalt vest Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him. And thou shalt consecrate the hands of them all, and shalt sanctify them: that they may do the office of priesthood unto me.


And thou shalt also do this, that they may be consecrated to me in priesthood. Take a calf from the herd, and two rams without blemish,


I will sanctify also the tabernacle of the testimony with the altar, and Aaron with his sons, to do the office of priesthood unto me.


To wit, Aaron and his children: and thou shalt put mitres upon them. And they shall be priests to me by a perpetual ordinance. After thou shalt have consecrated their hands,


Thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and shalt sanctify them: that they may do the office of priesthood unto me.


But thou and thy sons look ye to the priesthood. And all things that pertain to the service of the altar, and that are within the veil, shall be executed by the priests. If any stranger shall approach, he shall be slain.


There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zachary, of the course of Abia; and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name Elizabeth.


And they had no son, for that Elizabeth was barren, and they both were well advanced in years.
