And Moses said to Josue: Choose out men: and go out and fight against Amalec. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill having the rod of God in my hand.


And they knew not till the flood came, and took them all away; so also shall the coming of the Son of man be.


The lord of that servant shall come in a day that he hopeth not, and at an hour that he knoweth not:


And at midnight there was a cry made: Behold the bridegroom cometh, go ye forth to meet him.


For yourselves know perfectly, that the day of the Lord shall so come, as a thief in the night.


And Josue went up from Galgal, and all the army of the warriors with him, most valiant men.


And thou shalt do to the city of Hai, and to the king thereof, as thou hast done to Jericho, and to the king thereof: but the spoils and all the cattle you shall take for a prey to yourselves. Lay an ambush for the city behind it.


And commanded them, saying: Lay an ambush behind the city: and go not very far from it: and be ye all ready.


But the day of the Lord shall come as a thief, in which the heavens shall pass away with great violence, and the elements shall be melted with heat, and the earth and the works which are in it, shall be burnt up.


Arise therefore in the night with the people that is with thee and he hid in the field.
