Hear, O Lord, the voice of my supplication, when I pray to thee; when I lift up my hands to thy holy temple.


The eyes of a wise man are in his head: the fool walketh in darkness: and I learned that they were to die both alike.


Give ye glory to the Lord your God, before it be dark, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains. You shall look for light and he will turn it into the shadow of death and into darkness.


But the Lord is with me as a strong warrior: therefore they that persecute me shall fall and shall be weak. They shall be greatly confounded, because they have not understood the everlasting reproach which never shall be effaced.


Yet hath he not root in himself, but is only for a time: and when there ariseth tribulation and persecution because of the word, he is presently scandalized.


These things he said; and after that he said to them: Lazarus our friend sleepeth; but I go that I may awake him out of sleep.


Jesus answered: Are there not twelve hours of the day? If a man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world:
