But it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ismael the son of Nathanias the son of Elisama, of the seed royal, came, and ten men with him; and smote Godolias so that he died. And also the Jews and the Chaldees that were with him in Maspha.


Better is wisdom, than weapons of war: and he that shall offend in one, shall lose many good things.


And Ismahel the son of Nathanias arose, and the ten men that were with him, and they struck Godolias the son of Ahicam, the son of Saphan, with the sword, and slew him whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.


And on the second day after he had killed Godolias, no man yet knowing it,


Beth. Weeping she hath wept in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks. There is none to comfort her among all them that were dear to her: all her friends have despised her and are become her enemies.
