At that same time, the Lord spoke by the hand of Isaias the son of Amos, saying: Go, and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and take off thy shoes from thy feet. And he did so, and went naked and barefoot.


Thus saith the Lord to me: Go, and get thee a linen girdle, and thou shalt put it about thy loins and shalt not put it into water.


The word that came from Jeremias to the Lord, saying:


And I went down into the potter's house: and: behold, he was doing a work on the wheel.


If they stood in my counsel and had made my words known to my people, I should have turned them from their evil way and from their wicked doings.


These things the Lord shewed to me: and behold the Lord was standing upon a plastered wall, and in his hand a mason's trowel.


And he trembling and astonished, said: Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?
