I would not that he should contend with me with much strength, nor overwhelm me with the weight of his greatness.


Bringing forth grass for cattle, and herb for the service of men. That thou mayst bring bread out of the earth:


Thou hast set a bound which they shall not pass over; neither shall they return to cover the earth.


Unto the end, for Idithun himself, a canticle of David.


Unto the end, in verses, a psalm for David, for the octave.


Or will God forget to shew mercy? or will he in his anger shut up his mercies?


For what shall I strike you any more, you that increase transgression? the whole head is sick, and the whole heart is sad.


And it shall come to pass, that when the Lord shall have performed all his works in Mount Sion and in Jerusalem, I will visit the fruit of the proud heart of the king of Assyria and the glory of the haughtiness of his eyes.


THUS saith the Lord: What is this bill of the divorce of your mother, with which I have put her away? Or who is my creditor, to whom I sold you? Behold, you are sold for your iniquities: and for your wicked deeds have I put your mother away.


For a small moment have I forsaken thee: but with great mercies will I gather thee.


For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be angry unto the end: because the spirit shall go forth from my face, end breathings I will make.


Thou hast met him that rejoiceth and doth justice: in thy ways they shall remember thee. Behold thou art angry, and we have sinned: in them we have been always and we shall be saved.


Correct me, O Lord, but yet with judgement: and not in fury, lest thou bring me to nothing.


For I am with thee, saith the Lord, to save thee: for I will utterly consume all the nations among which I have scattered thee. But I will not utterly consume thee: but I will chastise thee in judgment, that thou mayst not seem to thyself innocent.


At that time it shall be said to this people and to Jerusalem: A burning wind is in the ways that are in the desert of the way of the daughter of my people, not to fan nor to cleanse.


For thus saith the Lord: All the land shall be desolate, but yet I will not utterly destroy.


And thou, my servant Jacob, fear not, saith the Lord: because I am with thee. For I will consume all the nations to which I have cast thee out: but thee I will not consume. But I will correct thee in judgment: neither will I spare thee, as if thou wert innocent.


Caph. For the Lord will not cast off for ever.


Caph. For if he hath cast off, he will also have mercy, according to the multitude of his mercies.


But she was plucked up in wrath and cast on the ground: and the burning wind dried up her fruit. Her strong rods are withered and dried up: the fire hath devoured her.


Because he shall make a separation between brothers: s the Lord will bring a burning wind that shall rise from the desert, and it shall dry up his springs, and shall make his fountain desolate, and he shall carry off the treasure of every desirable vessel.


Hear the word of the Lord, ye children of Israel, for the Lord shall enter into judgment with the inhabitants of the land: for there is no truth, and there is no mercy, and there is no knowledge of God in the land.


Let no temptation take hold on you, but such as is human. And God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that which you are able: but will make also with temptation issue, that you may be able to bear it.


Wherein you shall greatly rejoice, if now you must be for a little time made sorrowful in divers temptations:
