The seven years of scarcity, which Joseph had foretold, began to come: and the famine prevailed in the whole world. But there was bread in all the land of Egypt.


And all provinces came into Egypt, to buy food, and to seek some relief of their want.


I have heard that wheat is sold in Egypt. Go ye down, and buy us necessaries, that we may live, and not be consumed with want.


Then Elias was afraid, and rising up he went whithersoever he had a mind. And he came to Bersabee of Juda, and left his servant there.


Arise, it is thy part to give orders: and we will be with thee. Take courage, and do it.


And all the people saw the voices and the flames, and the sound of the trumpet, and the mount smoking: and being terrified and struck with fear, they stood afar off,


And the officers of the children of Israel saw that they were in evil case, because it was said to them: There shall not a whit be diminished of the bricks for every day.
