Now Ephron dwelt in the midst of the children of Heth. And Ephron made answer to Abraham in the hearing of all that went in at the gate of the city, saying:


I am a stranger and sojourner among you: give me the right of a burying place with you, that I may bury my dead.


And said to them: If it please your soul that I should bury my dead, hear me, and intercede for me to Ephron the son of Seor.


Which he had bought of the children of Heth. There was he buried, and Sara his wife.


And he charged them, saying: I am now going to be gathered to my people: bury me with my fathers in the double cave, which is in the field of Ephron the Hethite,


And carrying him into the land of Chanaan, they buried him in the double cave which Abraham had bought together with the held for a possession of a burying place, of Ephron the Hethite over against Mambre.


And David said to him: Give me this place of thy threshing-floor, that I may build therein an altar to the Lord: but thou shalt take of me as much money as it is worth, that the plague may cease from the people.


And king David said to him: It shall not be so, but I will give thee money as much as it is worth: for I must not take it from thee, and so offer to the Lord holocausts free cost.


To no man rendering evil for evil. Providing good things, not only in the sight of God, but also in the sight of all men.
