In the place of the altar which he had made before. And there he called upon the name of the Lord.


And, behold, one that had escaped told Abram the Hebrew, who dwelt in the vale of Mambre the Amorrhite, the brother of Escol, and the brother of Aner: for these had made league with Abram.


And the Lord appeared to him in the vale of Mambre as he was sitting at the door of his tent, in the very heat of the day.


And they came to the place which God had shewn him, where he built an altar, and laid the wood in order upon it. And when he had bound Isaac his son, he laid him on the altar upon the pile of wood.


And she died in the city of Arbee which is Hebron, in the land of Chanaan: and Abraham came to mourn and weep for her.


And he built there an altar: and called upon the name of the Lord, and pitched his tent. And he commanded his servants to dig a well.


And he came to Isaac his father in Mambre, the city of Arbee, this is Hebron, wherein Abraham and Isaac sojourned.


I am ready: he said to him; Go, and see if all things be well with thy brethren, and the cattle; and bring me word again what is doing. So being sent from the vale of Hebron, he came to Sichem.


And Noe built an altar unto the Lord: and taking of all cattle and fowls that were clean, offered holocausts upon the altar.


And after these things David consulted the Lord, saying: Shall I go up into one of the cities of Juda? And the Lord said to him: Go up. And David said: Whither shall I go up? And he answered him: Into Hebron.


From them that resist thy right hand keep me, as the apple of thy eye. Protect me under the shadow of thy wings.


And when they were gone up, they viewed the land, from the desert of Sin, unto Rohob, as you enter into Emath.


I will therefore that men pray in every place, lifting up pure hands, without anger and contention.


By faith he abode in the land, dwelling in cottages, with Isaac and Jacob, the co-heirs of the same promise.


And Josue blessed him, and gave him Hebron in possession.


But to Caleb the son of Jephone he gave a portion in the midst of the children of Juda, as the Lord had commanded him: Cariath-Arbe, the father of Enac, which is Hebron.
