And they said: Come, let us make a city and a tower, the top whereof may reach to heaven: and let us make our name famous, before we be scattered abroad into all lands.


Come ye, therefore, let us go down, and there confound their tongue, that they may not understand one another's speech.


Now the woodland vale had many pits of slime. And the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrha turned their backs and were overthrown there: and they that remained fled to the mountain.

A people that continually provoke me to anger before my face: that immolate in gardens and sacrifice upon bricks:


The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with square stones: they have cut down the sycamores, but we will change them for cedars.


Draw thee water for the siege, build up thy bulwarks: go into the clay, and tread, work it and make brick.


And let us consider one another, to provoke unto charity and to good works:


But exhort one another every day, whilst it is called to day, that none of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.


But who art thou that judgest thy neighbour? Behold, now you that say: To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and there we will spend a year, and will traffic, and make our gain.


Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl in your miseries, which shall come upon you.
