And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, according to the idols of the nations, which the Lord destroyed from before the face of the children of Israel.


Thy wickedness may hurt a man that is like thee: and thy justice may help the son of man.


Dying flies spoil the sweetness of the ointment. Wisdom and glory is more precious than a small and shortlived folly.


If the iron be blunt, and be not as before, but be made blunt, with much labour it shall be sharpened: and after industry shall follow wisdom.


And I saw that wisdom excelled folly, as much as light differeth from darkness.


Wisdom with riches is more profitable, and bringeth more advantage to them that see the sun.


It is good that thou shouldst hold up the just, yea and from him withdraw not thy hand: for he that feareth God, neglecteth nothing.


And I said that wisdom is better than strength: how then is the wisdom of the poor man slighted, and his words not heard?


Now as Jannes and Mambres resisted Moses, so these also resist the truth, men corrupted in mind, reprobate concerning the faith.

How much more if the people had eaten of the prey of their enemies, which they found? Had there not been made a greater slaughter among the Philistines?
