And he walked with God, and was seen no more: because God took him.


I am become miserable, and am bowed down even to the end: I walked sorrowful all the day long.


THE just perisheth and no man layeth it to heart: and men of mercy are taken away, because there is none that understandeth; for the just man is taken away from before the face of evil.


In your patience you shall possess your souls.


But that on the good ground, are they who in a good and perfect heart, hearing the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit in patience.


And as he treated of justice, and chastity, and of the judgment to come, Felix being terrified, answered: For this time, go thy way: but when I have a convenient time, I will send for thee.


For what things soever were written, were written for our learning: that through patience and the comfort of the scriptures, we might have hope.


To them indeed, who according to patience in good work, seek glory and honour and incorruption, eternal life:


But if we hope for that which we see not, we wait for it with patience.


And every one that striveth for the mastery, refraineth himself from all things: and they indeed that they may receive a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible one.


But in all things let us exhibit ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in tribulation, in necessities, in distresses,


Mildness, faith, modesty, continency, chastity. Against such there is no law.


Strengthened with all might, according to the power of his glory, in all patience and longsuffering with joy,


Being mindful of the work of your faith, and labour, and charity, and of the enduring of the hope of our Lord Jesus Christ before God and our Father:


So that we ourselves also glory in you in the churches of God, for your patience and faith, and in all your persecutions and tribulations, which you endure,


And the Lord direct your hearts, in the charity of God, and the patience of Christ.


But as it becometh women professing godliness, with good works.


For kings, and for all that are in high station: that we may lead a quiet and a peaceable life in all piety and chastity.


And evidently great is the mystery of godliness, which was manifested in the flesh, was justified in the spirit, appeared unto angels, hath been preached unto the Gentiles, is believed in the world, is taken up in glory.


But thou, O man of God, fly these things: and pursue justice, godliness, faith, charity, patience, mildness.


If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to that doctrine which is according to godliness,


But godliness with contentment is great gain.


Having an appearance indeed of godliness, but denying the power thereof. Now these avoid.


Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of the elect of God and the acknowledging of the truth, which is according to godliness:


But given to hospitality, gentle, sober, just, holy, continent:


That the aged men be sober, chaste, prudent, sound in faith, in love, in patience.


For patience is necessary for you; that, doing the will of God, you may receive the promise.


And therefore we also having so great a cloud of witnesses over our head, laying aside every weight and sin which surrounds us, let us run by patience to the fight proposed to us:


That you become not slothful, but followers of them, who through faith and patience shall inherit the promises.


And so patiently enduring he obtained the promise.


As all things of his divine power which appertain to life and godliness, are given us, through the knowledge of him who hath called us by his own proper glory and virtue.


Seeing then that all these things are to be dissolved, what manner of people ought you to be in holy conversation and godliness?


I John, your brother and your partner in tribulation, and in the kingdom, and patience in Christ Jesus, was in the island, which is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus.


He that shall lead into captivity, shall go into captivity: he that shall kill by the sword, must be killed by the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.


Here is the patience of the saints, who keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.


I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them that are evil, and thou hast tried them, who say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
