If a thief be found breaking open a house or undermining it, and be wounded so as to die: he that slew him shall not be guilty of blood.


Blessed are ye when they shall revile you, and persecute you, and speak all that is evil against you, untruly, for my sake:


And that you use your endeavour to be quiet, and that you do your own business, and work with your own hands, as we commanded you: and that you walk honestly towards them that are without; and that you want nothing of any man's.


For we have heard there are some among you who walk disorderly, working not at all, but curiously meddling.


And withal being idle they learn to go about from house to house: and are not only idle, but tattlers also, and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.


Wherein I labour even unto bands, as an evildoer; but the word of God is not bound.


But if also you suffer any thing for justice' sake, blessed are ye. And be not afraid of their fear, and be not troubled.


For it is better doing well (if such be the will of God) to suffer, than doing ill.
