Adam also knew his wife again; and she brought forth a son, and called his name Seth, saying: God hath given me another seed, for Abel whom Cain slew.


But Absalom spoke not to Amnon neither good nor evil: for Absalom hated Amnon because he had ravished his sister Thamar.


My friends and my neighbours have drawn near, and stood against me. And they that were near me stood afar off:


Anger hath no mercy, nor fury when it breaketh forth: and who can bear the violence of one provoked?


Bloodthirsty men hate the upright: but just men seek his soul.


The just abhor the wicked man: and the wicked loathe them that are in the right way. The son that keepeth the word, shall be free from destruction.


When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, there cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart: this is he that received the seed by the way side.


And the field, is the world. And the good seed are the children of the kingdom. And the cockle, are the children of the wicked one.


That upon you may come all the just blood that hath been shed upon the earth, from the blood of Abel the just, even unto the blood of Zacharias the son of Barachias, whom you killed between the temple and the altar.


The governor said to them: Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying: Let him be crucified.


But let your speech be yea, yea: no, no: and that which is over and above these, is of evil.


From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, who was slain between the alter and the temple: Yea I say to you, It shall be required of this generation.


Jesus answered them: Many good works I have shewed you from my Father; for which of these works do you stone me?


But now you seek to kill me, a man who have spoken the truth to you, which I have heard of God. This Abraham did not.


You do the works of your father. They said therefore to him: We are not born of fornication: we have one Father, even God.


Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? And they have slain them who foretold of the coming of the Just One; of whom you have been now the betrayers and murderers:


For you, brethren, are become followers of the churches of God which are in Judea, in Christ Jesus: for you also have suffered the same things from your own coutrymen, even as they have from the Jews,


By faith Abel offered to God a sacrifice exceeding that of Cain, by which he obtained a testimony that he was just, God giving testimony to his gifts; and by it he being dead yet speaketh.


And to Jesus the mediator of the new testament, and to the sprinkling of blood which speaketh better than that of Abel.


Wherein they think it strange, that you run not with them into the same confusion of riotousness, speaking evil of you.


He that committeth sin is of the devil: for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God appeared, that he might destroy the works of the devil.


Woe unto them, for they have gone in the way of Cain: and after the error of Balaam they have for reward poured out themselves, and have perished in the contradiction of Core.


And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And I wondered, when I had seen her, with great admiration.
