Ephraim’s envy will cease; Judah’s harassing will end. Ephraim will no longer be envious of Judah, and Judah will not harass Ephraim.


Manasseh eats Ephraim, and Ephraim, Manasseh; together, both are against Judah. In all this, his anger has not turned away, and his hand is still raised to strike.


I will make them one nation in the land,  on the mountains of Israel, and one king will rule over all of them.  They will no longer be two nations and will no longer be divided into two kingdoms.


Indeed, I will no longer have compassion on the inhabitants of the land’ #– #this is the Lord’s declaration. ‘Instead, I will turn everyone over to his neighbour and his king. They will devastate the land, and I will not rescue it from their hand.’


So I shepherded the flock intended for slaughter, the oppressed of the flock.  I took two staffs, calling one Favour  and the other Union, and I shepherded the flock.


Then I said, ‘I will no longer shepherd you. Let what is dying die, and let what is perishing perish; let the rest devour each other’s flesh.’


Then many will fall away, betray one another, and hate one another.


If a kingdom   is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.


But if you bite and devour  one another, watch out, or you will be consumed by one another.


But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t boast and deny the truth.


For where there is envy and selfish ambition, there is disorder and every evil practice.
