Then the Lord said, ‘The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is immense, and their sin is extremely serious.


Come, let’s get our father to drink wine so that we can sleep with him and preserve our father’s line.’


So both of Lot’s daughters became pregnant by their father.


Before they went to bed, the men of the city of Sodom, both young and old, the whole population, surrounded the house.


What he did was evil in the Lord’s sight, so he put him to death also.


Now Er, Judah’s firstborn, was evil in the Lord’s sight, and the Lord put him to death.


Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight, and the earth was filled with wickedness.


When the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma,  he said to himself, ‘I will never again curse the ground  because of human beings, even though the inclination of the human heart is evil from youth onward.  And I will never again strike down every living thing as I have done.


For no one will be justified  in his sight by the works of the law,  because the knowledge of sin comes through the law.


because the law produces wrath.  And where there is no law,  there is no transgression.


The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin  is the law.


We know that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers and sisters. The one who does not love remains in death.


Everyone who commits sin practises lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.
