so my word that comes from my mouth will not return to me empty, but it will accomplish what I please and will prosper in what I send it to do.’


I will spoil the plans of Judah and Jerusalem in this place. I will make them fall by the sword before their enemies, by the hand of those who intend to take their life. I will provide their corpses as food for the birds of the sky and for the wild animals of the land.


But if her husband cancels them on the day he hears about it, nothing that came from her lips, whether her vows or her obligation, is binding. Her husband has cancelled them, and the Lord will release her.


But if he cancels them after he hears about them, he will be responsible for her commitment.’


Do we then nullify the law through faith? Absolutely not!  On the contrary, we uphold the law.


This is why the promise is by faith, so that it may be according to grace,  to guarantee it to all the descendants   #– #not only to the one who is of the law  but also to the one who is of Abraham’s faith. He is the father of us all.


Is Christ divided?  Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptised in Paul’s name?


I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the law,  then Christ died  for nothing.


You who are trying to be justified by the law are alienated from Christ; you have fallen from grace.


and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own from the law,  but one that is through faith in Christ   #– #the righteousness from God based on faith.


(for the law perfected  nothing), but a better hope is introduced, through which we draw near to God.


For the law appoints as high priests men who are weak, but the promise of the oath, which came after the law, appoints a Son,  who has been perfected  for ever.
