Romans 12:13

honey, curds, sheep, goats, and cheese  from the herd for David and the people with him to eat. They had reasoned, ‘The people must be hungry, exhausted, and thirsty in the wilderness.’


so let’s make a small, walled-in upper room and put a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp there for him. Whenever he comes, he can stay there.’


Her hands reach   out to the poor, and she extends her hands to the needy.


‘ “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took me in;


Staring at him in awe, he said, ‘What is it, Lord? ’ The angel told him, ‘Your prayers and your acts of charity have ascended as a memorial offering before God.


and laid them at the apostles’ feet. This was then distributed to each person as any had need.


if exhorting,  in exhortation; giving, with generosity;  leading,  with diligence; showing mercy, with cheerfulness.


Brothers and sisters, you know the household of Stephanas: They are the firstfruits  of Achaia  and have devoted themselves to serving the saints. I urge you


Now concerning the ministry to the saints, it is unnecessary for me to write to you.


For the ministry of this service  is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.


Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us work  for the good  of all, especially for those who belong to the household  of faith.


An overseer,  therefore, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, self-controlled, sensible,  respectable, hospitable,  able to teach,


and is well known for good works   #– #that is, if she has brought up children, shown hospitality,  washed the saints’ feet,  helped the afflicted,  and devoted herself to every good work.


but hospitable, loving what is good, sensible, righteous, holy, self-controlled,


Let our people learn to devote themselves to good works for pressing needs, so that they will not be unfruitful.


For I have great joy and encouragement from your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed  through you, brother.


Don’t neglect to do what is good and to share, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.


Don’t neglect to show hospitality, for by doing this some have welcomed angels as guests without knowing it.


For God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love  you demonstrated for his name by serving the saints #– #and by continuing to serve them.


Be hospitable  to one another without complaining.


If anyone has this world’s goods  and sees a fellow believer  in need  but withholds compassion  from him #– #how does God’s love reside in him?


Dear friend, you are acting faithfully in whatever you do for the brothers and sisters, especially when they are strangers.
