A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den.  The king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the signet rings of his nobles, so that nothing in regard to Daniel could be changed.


For false messiahs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders to lead astray,   if possible, even the elect.


They went and secured the tomb by setting a seal on the stone and placing the guards.


Some are like the word sown on the path.   When they hear, immediately Satan   comes and takes away the word   sown in them.


And they begged him not to banish them to the abyss.


But I fear that, as the serpent  deceived  Eve  by his cunning, your minds may be seduced from a sincere and pure  devotion to Christ.


Dear friends, don’t overlook this one fact: With the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.


So the great dragon was thrown out #– #the ancient serpent,  who is called the devil and Satan,  the one who deceives the whole world.  He was thrown to earth, and his angels with him.


It deceives those who live on the earth  because of the signs that it is permitted to perform in the presence of the beast,  telling those who live on the earth to make an image  of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.


The kings of the earth  committed sexual immorality with her, and those who live on the earth became drunk on the wine of her sexual immorality.’


The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to come up from the abyss  and go to destruction.  Those who live on the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world  will be astonished when they see the beast that was, and is not, and is to come.


Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven holding the key to the abyss  and a great chain  in his hand.
