A king’s rage is like the roaring of a lion, but his favour is like dew on the grass.


For this is what the Lord said to me: As a lion or young lion growls over its prey when a band of shepherds is called out against it, and it is not terrified by their shouting or subdued by their noise, so the Lord of Armies will come down to fight on Mount Zion and on its hill.


The Lord advances like a warrior; he stirs up his zeal like a soldier. He shouts, he roars aloud, he prevails over his enemies.


Their roaring is like a lion’s; they roar like young lions; they growl and seize their prey and carry it off, and no one can rescue it.


‘As for you, you are to prophesy all these things to them, and say to them: The Lord roars from on high; he makes his voice heard from his holy dwelling. He roars loudly over his grazing land; he calls out with a shout, like those who tread grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.


The sound of the cherubim’s wings could be heard as far as the outer court; it was like the voice of God Almighty when he speaks.


They will follow the  Lord; he will roar like a lion. When he roars, his children will come trembling from the west.


The Lord will roar from Zion and make his voice heard from Jerusalem; heaven and earth will shake. But the Lord will be a refuge for his people, a stronghold for the Israelites.


He said: The Lord roars  from Zion and makes his voice heard from Jerusalem; the pastures of the shepherds mourn,  , and the summit of Carmel   withers.


A lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken; who will not prophesy?


I heard a sound  from heaven like the sound of cascading waters  and like the rumbling of loud thunder. The sound I heard was like harpists playing on their harps.


Then I saw another great and awe-inspiring sign  in heaven:  seven angels with the seven last plagues; for with them God’s wrath will be completed.


One of the four living creatures gave the seven angels seven golden bowls filled with the wrath of God who lives for ever and ever.


Flashes of lightning and rumblings and peals of thunder came from the throne.  Seven fiery torches were burning before the throne, which are the seven spirits of God.


The angel took the incense burner, filled it with fire from the altar,  and hurled it to the earth; there were peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake.
