Naaman,  commander of the army for the king of Aram, was a man important to his master and highly regarded  because through him, the Lord had given victory to Aram. The man was a valiant warrior, but he had a skin disease.


When I was a son with my father, tender and precious to my mother,


For jealousy enrages a husband, and he will show no mercy when he takes revenge.


My son, obey my words, and treasure my commands.


She grabs him and kisses him; she brazenly says  to him,


Before the mountains were established, prior to the hills,  I was given birth  –


A huge torrent cannot extinguish love; rivers cannot sweep it away. If a man were to give all his wealth  for love, it would be utterly scorned.


Look! I am stirring up the Medes against them, who cannot be bought off with   silver and who have no desire for gold.


So humanity is brought low, and each person is humbled. Do not forgive them!


‘So I in turn have made you despised  and humiliated before all the people because you are not keeping my ways but are showing partiality in your instruction.’
