Proverbs 31:5
9 Tagairtí Cros

When Ben-hadad heard this response, while he and the kings were drinking  in their quarters,  he said to his servants, ‘Take your positions.’ So they took their positions against the city.

‘You must not deny justice to a poor person among you in his lawsuit.

Acquitting the guilty and condemning the just   – both are detestable to the  Lord.

It is not good to show partiality to the guilty, denying an innocent person justice.

Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine, who are champions at pouring beer,

who acquit the guilty for a bribe and deprive the innocent of justice.

‘You and your sons are not to drink wine  or beer  when you enter the tent of meeting, or else you will die; this is a permanent statute  throughout your generations.

Moreover, wine   betrays; an arrogant man is never at rest. He enlarges his appetite like Sheol, and like Death he is never satisfied. He gathers all the nations to himself; he collects all the peoples for himself.

Do not deny justice or show partiality to anyone. Do not accept a bribe, for it blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.
